Communal Herding Model
To address the domestic market demand, Yellow Palm Ltd adopts the African model of communal herding. This approach encourages local communities in the province to raise cattle and sell them back to the company.
The company has already begun capacity training programs to raise awareness and inspire interest among surrounding communities. Through the communal herding initiative, Yellow Palm Ltd provides:
- Calves
- Blended Feed
- Veterinary Services
- Farmer Training Programs
Cattle raised by participating farmers and groups will be purchased by the company, fattened at Fugwa feedlots, slaughtered, and processed. The resulting beef products will be stored and distributed across the region and throughout Papua New Guinea.
Abattoir
Once the Fugwa Farma and the Communal Herding Project achieve sustainable production levels, Yellow Palm Ltd plans to invest in the development of a state-of-the-art abattoir. Upon completion, this facility will serve as the sole beef processing center in the Highlands region.
The abattoir will include:
- Slaughterhouse – Equipped for efficient and humane animal processing.
- Processing Facility – Designed for the preparation and packaging of high-quality beef products.
- Storage Facility – Featuring advanced refrigeration systems to ensure optimal preservation and quality control.
